"Hope is a dangerous thing"
A virulent plague has ravaged the world, destroying the bodies and taking the minds of those infected. Following the sudden and traumatic loss of his family in the early days of the outbreak, Carter retreats into the desert, hiding away from what remains of the world. But when a lost girl arrives at his door seeking help, he must confront old wounds and find a way to finally heal, or bleed out.
Production
Independently funded and produced, Red Plague serves as the true definition of a passion project. Created by a small team of students from Chapman and Azusa Pacific Universities, the script was written in late 2022, with pre-production taking place throughout 2023. Production took place in January of 2024, concluding after three weeks of shooting in locations all over Southern California, including Lancaster, San Pedro, and Adelanto. Post-production is set to conclude in January 2025.
